Saidl (Brand)
When I decided to share my work and progress online, I knew I needed a strong brand identity for my creative alias—one with a logo and visual style that reflects my skills, personality, and creative vision. With my website included, this is one of the biggest solo projects I’ve taken on so far.
About the project
When I started this project, I immediately knew which visual direction I wanted to follow: my own. I’m drawn to clean, modern, and sometimes minimalistic visuals, so I wanted the identity to reflect that style. I began by designing a logo based on my online alias, Saidl, built entirely from circles and rectangles. This geometric approach gives the logo a structured and recognizable look. The resulting ‘S’ became an icon that I can use across different platforms as recognizable signature.
Look and feel
For the color palette, I chose a simple and calm combination that supports the overall visual style. I created this using a monochromatic palette alongside different shades of grey. Rather than using pure black and white, I chose slightly softened variations to prevent the colors from feeling too harsh. For the typography, I selected two modern sans-serif fonts: a bold, heavy typeface for headings to create contrast, and a clear, slightly more angular typeface for body text to keep everything readable.
Bringing it to life
Because I also wanted to showcase some of my different skills, and felt that the visual identity itself was quite simple, I created some additional assets such as mockups, thumbnail artwork, and motion graphics. These elements allow the brand to feel more dynamic and show how the identity can be applied across different formats. Each asset follows the same visual style of the Saidl brand, using the same colors, typography, and clean design approach to create a strong sense of consistency and cohesion.
