Djoep Khosok 2.0

About a year ago, I created the website for Djoep Khosok Thai and Kickboxing. Since I was less experienced with coding and web design at the time, I decided to revisit the project and create a small redesign. The updated website is now live, and you can still view my original design to see how my skills and approach have developed.

About the project

When starting the redesign, I wanted to give the website a cleaner and more modern look. In my previous project, I struggled to stand up for my design choices, which meant the final result didn’t fully reflect my vision as a designer. This time, I took a more confident approach and communicated my ideas more clearly, while still considering Djoep Khosok’s wishes and discussing the design with the trainers. I also wanted to make the website more interactive through animations and hover effects without making it feel too busy. Finally, I softened the color contrasts to create a more balanced and visually appealing experience.

Little tweaks

I used GSAP for most of the animations, just like on my own website. I also added some useful features, such as automatically filling in the contact form when clicking options like “Request a free trial session.” The subject and message fields are pre-filled but can still be edited. Additionally, pop-up messages confirm whether a message has been sent successfully or if something went wrong. Overall, I’m happy with the improvements I’ve made. I think this project clearly shows my growth as a creator, designer, and developer, offering a direct comparison between my skills now and a year ago through the same project.
